Are we allowed to drive the boats?

All of our boats are in-slip rentals, and can’t be taken out. Many of our rental locations have charter services available on boats in the same marina, and we can get you information regarding these services if you desire an excursion.”

Yes, SleepAfloat does not rent to anyone under the age of 25 unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.

How safe is the location?

The houseboats are all in rather safe marinas, located in busy tourist areas within the cities. Most of the docks have locked gates at the entrance or a security guard station fully staffed and looking after the marina. Each boat can be secured while you are on board, or if you are away for the day with a door lock.

Our Site Managers are also on hand 24-7 to meet any concerns about safety you may have during your stay.

Do I need to bring my car, and where do I park?

We recognize the hassle of traveling with a car within cities. We try to select marinas that are convenient for car-free exploring. Most of our locations are within walking distance to major tourist sites, and also have an abundance of public transportation options. If you do need to drive to the marina, we can provide you with information for finding a parking spot convenient to the marina and boat.

Do the boats have heat and air conditioning?

All of our boats have heat and air conditioning, and are comfortable even in the most inclement weather.

Is there Wifi and cable on the boats?

Most of our boats have Wifi and cable.  It depends on the boat and the location.  Inquire with our staff if you are interested in knowing if a specific boat has Wifi and cable.

Do you allow pets?

Most of our boats are pet friendly but please ask before booking.  There is a $50 pet fee that is applied to the rental rate to bring up to two pets.

What are the sleeping arrangements?

The configuration will be different on many of the boats, please check out the specifics on each properties listing page.

How many guests are allowed on board?

Overnight guests are limited to the number on your reservation. We ask that you refrain from inviting any additional guests aboard, or to the marina. We are guests in these marinas as well, and need to be a good neighbor to our fellow boaters. Small, quiet gatherings are OK. Loud parties are not. Please make sure to read our contract regarding expectations.

The maximum number of guests we can have on board the boats is listed in your rental agreement.

What time is Check-in/Check-out?

CHECK IN AND CHECK OUT: The rental period begins at 3:00 p.m. on the day of arrival and terminates at 11:00 a.m. on the day of departure, unless prior arrangements have been made. Early check ins or late departures may incur an additional charge of $25. The properties are professionally cleaned and inspected before and after each rental to ensure that all guests have a clean comfortable stay. Occasionally delays may occur during peak season. Check in is from 3 pm to 8 pm. Guests arriving between 8 and 10 pm must pay a $50 late fee and guests arriving between 10 pm midnight must pay $100. Advance notice required. No check in or refunds for arrival past 12 am.

What are the Payment and Cancellation policies?

DEPOSIT AND PAYMENTS: 50% of your reservation is due at the time you make your reservation. The total is due 30 days prior to your check in date. If you have a credit card on file it will be charged automatically unless other payment arrangements are made. Please review your reservation and make sure all the information including check in and check out dates are correct.

PAYMENT TERMS: We only accept credit cards (Mastercard, Visa or Discover) as forms of payment.

CANCELLATION: A sixty (60) day advance notice is required for refundable cancellation. Cancellations that occur more than sixty (60) days prior to the arrival date will be refunded, but will incur a $100 administrative fee. Cancellations that occur within 60 days of the arrival date forfeit the advance deposit. If the reservation is cancelled less than 30 days prior to the arrival date, the full payment is forfeited. Early departure does not warrant a refund of rent or deposit.

TRAVEL PROTECTION: Travel Protection is available to protect your vacation from cancellation, delays and emergencies. This is an optional, but recommended plan that provides a wide array of significant levels of coverage for when things go wrong during your vacation. NOTICES: 1) Coverage can only be purchased at the time of booking, and customers have the ability to cancel the coverage for a full refund of the premium up to 15 days after the date of booking. 2) The “Cancel For Any Reason” feature in the TripHedge Protection applies until 72 hours prior to check-in date.

RATES: Rates, terms and applicable taxes are subject to change without notice. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, SleepAfloat reserves the right to move guests to a comparable property or refund the Guest the amount paid.

What are your Rental Terms and Conditions?

DAMAGE AND CLEANING ISSUES: A damage waiver of $39 is required. The waiver provides $3,000 of protection for ACCIDENTAL damage. Any damage or cleaning issues noticed upon arrival should be reported to SleepAfloat immediately. If damage has not been reported within 3 hours of arrival, it will be deemed your responsibility and your credit card may be charged for the cost of the repair. All general maintenance and cleaning issues should be reported to the site manager upon arrival.
SleepAfloat reserves the right to CHARGE THE CREDIT CARD on file for MALICIOUS, INTENTIONAL, or NEGLIGENT damage caused to the property during your stay. You will not be held responsible or incur additional charges for damages provided the following provisions are met:
No damage is done to the unit or its contents including the linens.
No items are missing upon the inventory check. (This includes, but is not limited to, transferring items to other units.)
All debris, garbage and discards are placed in proper containers.
All soiled dishes are placed in the dishwasher.
The maximum occupancy of the unit was not exceeded.
There was no smoking in a designated non-smoking unit.
Unit is left in neat condition. Pet friendly units show no sign of pet damage or excessive cleaning.
All keys are left on the kitchen table and/or lockbox and unit is left locked.
All debris, rubbish and discards are properly bagged.
If you experience any problems whatsoever with the vacation property during your stay, please contact the site manager and we will do our best to rectify the matter as soon as it is practically possible. Should a problem remain unresolved, you are required to notify us in writing within 7 days after check out. No action can be taken or liability accepted for any complaints received after this period.It is our goal to resolve complaints within 60 days from the time they are reported.

NO SMOKING: Smoking is not allowed in any of our units. Smoking is not allowed outside by any open window/door. Smoking is permitted on balconies as long as the doors and windows are closed.

SEVERE WEATHER: We do not refund rents or deposits lost due to cancelled or shortened stays because of weather. Departures due to inclement weather do no warrant refund of rent or deposit.

PET POLICIES (Allowed in Pet Friendly Units Only): There is a minimum of two pets allowed in each unit at a flat rate of $50 per rental. Guest pets must be treated for fleas and ticks prior to arrival. Guests must pick up after pets and tightly tie the remnants in a plastic bag. Pets are not allowed on the furniture and all pet hair must be totally cleaned prior to departure. A $150 fee will be charged if there is any report of pet hair on bedding and sofas. Guest pets must be leashed at all times when outside of the unit. The violation of any terms of this pet policy subjects the guest to additional fees or termination of the rental. Guest pet policies are subject to change per county and local rules and regulations at any time.

MARINA RULES: Guest agrees to abide by rules of the marina.

FALSIFIED RESERVATIONS: Any reservation obtained under false pretense will be subject to forfeiture of advance deposit and/or rental money and the party will not be permitted to check-in.

MINIMUM AGE – We do not rent to anyone under 25 years of age unless accompanied by an adult guardian or parent.

MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY- The maximum number of guests on the boat is detailed in your rental agreement. A FEE OF $50.00 PER GUEST/NIGHT OVER THE INITIAL 2 GUESTS WILL BE CHARGED.

NO DAILY MAID SERVICE – While linens and bath towels are included in the unit, daily maid service is not included in the rental rate.

WRITTEN EXCEPTIONS – Any exceptions to the above mentioned policies must be approved in writing in advance
GUEST assures us that their parties will observe all conditions and terms of this agreement as to maintaining the rental in good order and appearance and will conduct themselves in a manner inoffensive to neighbors particularly relating to loud noise.
GUEST assures that anyone in their party who violates any of the terms of this Agreement shall be immediately denied occupancy.
GUEST agrees that any tenant who is found using illegal drugs or allows others to use illegal drugs on the premises will be immediately denied continued occupancy at these premises.
GUEST and/or members of their party shall not disturb, annoy, endanger, or inconvenience neighbors, nor use the premises for any immoral or unlawful purposes, nor violate any law or ordnance.
GUEST agrees that during the term of this agreement and such further time as he/she occupies the premises, he/she will keep the rental clean and free of trash, garbage, and other waste. All pipes, wires, glass, plumbing and other equipment and fixtures shall be kept in the same condition as at the beginning of the rental.
GUEST agrees to indemnify and save SleepAfloat harmless from all liability, loss or damage arising from any nuisance or harm made or suffered on the premises by the GUEST, members of their party or from any carelessness, neglect, or improper conduct of any persons entering, occupying or visiting the premises.
SleepAfloat accepts no responsibility or liability for any loss or damage or alteration to the terms of the reservation caused by events beyond its control, including but not restricted to war, terrorist activity, civil commotion, flight delays, or cancellations, airport closures, loss of luggage, adverse weather conditions, fire flood, or industrial dispute. SleepAfloat does not accept any liability for failure of public supplies such as water, electricity, or Internet. Nor for the consequences of the action or omissions of persons who may control or supply main services, or any actions taken by any authority over which there is no control. SleepAfloat does not accept any liability for GUEST’S and/or members of their party’s personal safety during the rental period. It is particularly important that children are supervised at all times inside and outside of the the vacation property. SleepAfloat assumes no responsibility for accidents. Guests are reminded to exercise care as to personal safety, and the safety of companions. Whenever possible, valuables should be left secure and out of sight.
If for any reason, in the judgement of SleepAfloat, the boat becomes uninhabitable or otherwise unusable, or the boat slip becomes unable to be used, then, at the option of SleepAfloat, this agreement may be immediately terminated and all payments shall be totally refunded.
