For about 10 years Andy, the founder of SleepAfloat, lived aboard a restored houseboat on Boston Harbor. He really fell in love with the way of life; Grilling on the deck, cocktails on the roof at sunset, being gently swayed to sleep in the evening.
Traveling often, he grew weary of the boring, monotonous hotel rooms in the cookie cutter commercial areas. He realized that quite often the fun and funkiest parts of town were right on the waterfront. This realization led him to purchase his first boat for others to enjoy in 2005.
Ryan came on board during the summer of 2008, and the decision to give travelers in other cities the 'houseboat experience' was made. Now with 9 boats and growing, you can also avoid the hotel and stay aboard with us!
